Another for the “Movement” theme – a 30+ second exposure of the busy shipping lane that is the point where Southampton Water joins the Solent. There were plenty of yachts and other craft nipping about on the water, but catching the movement turned out to be trickier that I thought.
It was a very hazy late afternoon, and so contrast was low. this made it much harder for moving objects to record a decent image on the sensor, and also gave an indistinct grey band across the centre of the frame.
However, the large cargo ship in the centre was nicely timed, and a couple of yachts crossing, show up too. Also on the larger sizes you can see seagull shaped trails in the foreground as the birds hop around looking for food. So on the whole a reasonable effort given the conditions.
